Mental Health FAQs
What are the benefits of telehealth access?
Telehealth offers numerous advantages for mental healthcare, including convenience, accessibility, flexibility, privacy, and safety. It allows you to attend your sessions from the comfort and privacy of your own home or any location within Connecticut.
Telehealth eliminates geographical barriers, making it easier for individuals in remote areas or with limited mobility in Connecticut to access our services. Virtual appointments also offer more scheduling flexibility, reducing time spent commuting and fitting sessions into your busy life.
Rest assured that our telehealth platform is secure and confidential, ensuring the privacy of your personal information. Additionally, during times of public health concerns or emergencies, telehealth provides a safe alternative to in-person visits, ensuring continuity of care.
Can I get psychiatric medication from the providers at Solstice Healthcare?
Yes, at Solstice Healthcare, our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMNHP) are experts in medication management for mental health conditions. They can prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications to help alleviate symptoms and promote mental well-being.
What does the process look like?
To get started, you fill out our New Patient Form. Within 24 hours our staff will contact you to schedule an intake. During the intake we conduct a psychological evaluation to determine your best options for treatment. Our intake process lasts 3 sessions, which ensures a thorough assessment to give you the best plan of care. Throughout this process, your treatment options will be discussed. If medication is deemed necessary or you would like to be evaluated for medication, you will be scheduled with the nurse practitioner.
Once medications are prescribed, follow up appointments are scheduled with your nurse practitioner in addition to your therapist to monitor progress and any side effects. Frequency of these sessions can decrease over time and be discussed with your treatment team.
